Are you organised, thorough and enjoy getting things done in the field? Would you like to play a key role in the safety of a dynamic company that manages several logistics sites in Belgium?
We are looking for an Operations Safety Coordinator who is ready to take on practical challenges, support local teams and harmonise best safety practices in the operations department.
Primary role:
Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring and controlling a consistent safety policy to ensure a consistent safety policy and culture across all sites.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor safety action plans at all sites to ensure compliance with objectives.
- Monitor safety indicators (KPIs) to ensure that sites meet safety objectives
- Establish and lead a community of ‘Safety Champions’ to have representatives at each site who enforce these action plans
- Organise training sessions on safety risks for staff to keep them fully informed.
- Collaborate with the HSEQ departments, prevention advisers and the Facilities department to enable all employees to work in a safe environment.
- Follow the roadmap established by management to implement a safety culture and achieve medium-term objectives.
- Establish routines with field teams and HSEQ teams.
- Ensure the proper use of machinery at all sites.
- Ensure proper safety signage at all sites.
- Report risks from the field to management. Identify proposals for continuous improvement, prioritise them and add them to action plans after validation.
Your Profile
- At least 5 years’ experience in safety in a logistics or supply chain environment
- Very good organisational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead a team without hierarchical ties
- Structured, observational skills, thoroughness and independence
- Ability to unite and drive forward actions in a multi-site environment
- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel and WMS
- Good knowledge of Dutch and/or English
